Mark Foy Worlds Day 5

The trade winds arrived just in time for the final day of racing at the Mark Foy Worlds in Fiji. With 20knots on the course the fleet finally got to unpack their little rigs for a day of thrills and spills.

Mark Foy Worlds Day 4

It was an hour long battle to the top with lead changes the whole way but it was Compass Markets that reached the island first. The Australian team cut the corner a bit too close and stopped in no breeze. Yamaha and Smeg stayed in the breeze line and sailed around taking the lead.

Mark Foy Worlds Day 3

Day two of racing started in similar conditions to yesterday. But as the racing was underway the breeze built to a steady 12 knots and swung to the right. It appeared to be the perfect conditions for the New Zealanders with Yamaha ending the day with two bullets and C-Tech claiming the third race.

Mark Foy Worlds Day 2

Day two of the Mark Foy World Championship started off as a happy one for the Triple M and Alcatel teams as their container arrived after being delayed at sea. With little over an hour till the start to unpack their boats and get onto the course it was a close call for two teams.

Perfect conditions welcomed the fleet to Fiji for the Mark Foy Championship and round three of the Triple Crown Trophy. After settling in to Fiji time, racing got underway at 1:30pm in a 12knot sea breeze and two windward/leeward races.

The Australian 18 Footer League’s 2015-2016 Season concluded on Sydney Harbour today with the Smeg 18ft Skiff team taking out the Club Championship and the Alcatel One Touch team winning the Season Point Score title.

Alcatel One Touch claimed victory in the Alice Burton Memorial Trophy 18ft Skiff race on Sydney Harbour today after previous leader Asko Appliances sailed a wrong mark on the last lap of the course.

Club Championship Race 10

The champion Smeg team continued the form which has seen it take victories in both the JJ Giltinan and Australian Championships when Lee Knapton, Ricky Bridge and Mike McKensey led nearly all the way in Race 10 of the League’s Club Championship on Sydney Harbour today.

Eighteen-year-old India Howard became 18ft Skiffs 2016 Queen of the Harbour when she teamed with Stephen Quigley, Thomas Quigley and Sam Ellis on Alcatel One Touch to claim the title with a brilliant victory on Sydney Harbour today.

Today’s Australian 18 Footer League’s President’s Trophy race was the final hit out for all teams prior to the start next Saturday of the 2016 JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff Championship on Sydney Harbour and it also solved a problem for the Lumix team which was in need of a skipper for the regatta.
